Are you looking for “more” in your life?

Do you ever feel restless?

Does your heart sometimes have a longing you can’t quite name?

Then you’re in the right place, my friend.

Last week I gave you an invitation: Say “Yes” to a God-sized Dream in 2013.

God-sized dreams aren’t really about size at all–they’re about embracing and pursuing the desires God has placed within your heart that perfectly fit who you are. God-sized dreams are part of your purpose and they lead to more joy, meaning, and hope in your life.

Everyone has a God-sized dream. If you think you don’t, you just haven’t discovered it yet.

Every Tuesday we’ll be talking about God-sized dreams right here. We’re kicking everything off tomorrow. Every week there will be a God-sized Dreamer who will join us and share her story to encourage you.

We want you to be part of the conversation too. So we’ll also have a link-up for you to share your God-sized dreams and the steps you’re taking. Every week we’ll give you a topic to write your post about. {If you’d like to see an example of a blog link-up, Five Minute Friday with Lisa-Jo Baker is a fabulous one.}

This week it’s simply this: What’s Your God-sized Dream?

Write a post on your blog and link it up here tomorrow. When you do, you’ll be entered to win a Red Letter Words print. If you don’t have a blog, you can write in the comments for tomorrow’s post.

Dare to say “yes” to a God-sized Dream in 2013.

Your life {and this world} will never be the same.

p.s. Subscribers, to get the most out of this series you’ll need to actually come to www.holleygerth.com instead of just reading via email. We’ll be so happy to see you!

  1. Jennifer says

My God sized dream is to be able to go on my first mission trip to Jerusalem this year and minister, bless, and be blessed, teach, and to learn from the experience and people.

  2. says

My God sized dream is to grow my business this year. I’m praying that God can use me to help build a team of ladies I can work with and celebrate and encourage throughout the year.

  3. says

Agreed. Our lives are never be the same after listening and following to our God sized dreams! The walking in faith takes letting go of our independent selves and holding tight to God, a sometimes difficult process. We can be so stubborn!
So glad to be along for the journey, Holley. Thanks again for following your God-Sized Dream to do this!

  4. Dezirae says

My God size dream is exactly God size and only he can do. I have been praying for my son’s father or my ex-long term boyfriend to become saved. I’ve been praying ceaselessly for 3 years and won’t stop until it happens. I trust God and know that it is not only our desire of the heart but God’s too.

  5. says

I already see my God-sized dream being a reality. A dream for God’s purpose for me to be fulfilled and for Him to receive all of the glory in the end. I cannot wait until tomorrow, I’m excited!!

  6. Deborah Smith says

My God-sized dream, has always been to be a story teller/writer. I have dreams to one day tell the story of my special needs daughter and the things God has revealed to this mother’s heart through our journey. I have seen so much of His glory as she has walked His path for her life, always with simple faith, complete trust, and a smile throughout pain. Some day He will let me share it with more than a few, He will open the gates, all will be in place and many will hear.

  7. Dayna says

My God-size dream is to reach out to others in my new community. I am searching for the need, situation, individual or group to support.

  8. Stephanie says

My God sized dream is to encourage, guide and train women and children to achieve better health through the establishment of my own personal training business.

    • says

I especially like that you include children in your dream of a personal training business. Moms and their kids could get fit and stay fit together! Super idea!

  9. says

My God sized dream is to write a book and get it published for the purpose of helping women have a deeper relationship with God, and a more joyful (less painful) life. For some reason that was a little hard to write down here. Making it public is a bit scary. I have had that dream in my head for years. I have started writing a book several times, but always have doubts about what I am writing, and if it will be of any interest to anyone. I am tempted to just erase this post. I am just going to take a deep breath, close my eyes, and hit the “Post Comment” button. ( I have a blog, but I don’t know how to do a link up. I looked at the sample blog 5 Minute Friday, but I don’t understand exactly what the link up is or what it does. Can anybody tell me? Thanks.)

  10. Heather says

Holley, I tracked with your message all the way…yes, I want more. Yes, I am restless. And yes, I can’t quite name the longing. Yes, I want to pursue desires that God has placed within my heart. However, I am not sure what exactly they all are and sometimes they are too many! I can identify past dreams that I have obtained. I can identify my abilities and things I have loved to do in the past. However, I have learned all to well that unless it’s from God and unless it’s His timing, it’s never the right thing. So perhaps I’m in the category of one who hasn’t discovered it yet. I will keep my eyes open and heart praying…

  11. Beth Horvath says

My God-sized dream is to be so loving to all that through my example, people will pass it on and think before they utter a word to their brothers and sisters that isn’t uplifting, positive, or kind. It sounds pollyannish, I know, but as one ages, one gets more altruistic, I believe. I know that a 35 year friendship has ended in my life because the person didn’t believe the words I was telling her. She impugned my integrity and denigrated my humanity. She dislikes herself so much, that she couldn’t believe that anyone would be hurt by her actions and words.

  12. Jackie van Overdijk says

    Hi Holley:

Is there any way I can somehow pay direct for the book to your ministry and have it shipped to Ontario, Canada? I really want to do this teaching. I am stuck and hoping it will help pull out what my dreams are and help me know….

Blessings – Jackie Thornhill, Ontario CANADA

  13. karyn says

I dream about kissing JESUS and seeing HIM more and more and more and loving HIM and just knowing more about HIM. These are my dreams all my life.

  14. Jeni says

My God sized dream is to be an example especially to my children of a good servant for God. But our obstacle is their father, my husband who says he is saved but still acts the same…His talk and actions are opposite, if that makes sense.

  15. says

Would love to take my ministry of writing and speaking to the next level. My God-sized dream is to be a speaker and writer that touches and moves thousands of hearts closer to God.

  16. Carroll Jean says

I really am not sure what God has planned for me. My heart is leaning toward a sanctuary for abused animals. I don’t know if that His plan or my feelings. I have a instinct that goes well with caring for those who are helpless and don’t have a voice. I am praying that God will reveal to me His perfect plan eventually. In His time not mine.

  17. says

    My dream/fantasy is to be able to walk w/steady gait, care for myself; also to 1 day visit the Navajos in Window Rock, Az. {{{{a place for handicapped Navajo children–and unwanted children} #2 to visit the Elders of Heirtage Hall in Montana……have been supporting them for 20 yrs. {{{seems as everyone wants and does DO GREAT THINGS FOR VARIOUS PEOPLE OVER SEAS, NEGLECT WHAT’S IN OUR OWN U.S.A.}}

  18. says

So excited to jump back into blogging. I slipped out of cyber-sight to pound out the words in my manuscript, and by God’s amazing grace I did!

Now I get to try and articulate just how much of a gem that is for me: words. I read today: acceptable words…!

    Linking up tomorrow for sure!

  19. says

Pastor Jack Graham (Prestonwood Baptist Church, Plano, TX) tweeted this recently, “The day you stop dreaming is the day you start dying. Keep your dreams alive.”

Wow! I don’t have a twitter account so I couldn’t retweet it, but what a powerful statement!

I have a feeling he is also talking about dreaming God-sized dreams! :)

  20. Jeannie says

Last year God gave me ideas for a line of jewelry featuring His words. . . scripture. Lots of ideas and even a mission statement. Not sure how to take the next step. As someone above noted, it’s scary type out the dream. . .to make it public. The dream is to inspire and encourage women especially younger women/teens with truth.. . beautiful truth.

  21. Norma Myers says

Holly, Thank you for being there. You help lift my soul! Sometimes it is hard to know what God wants for us. I have worked for my company for 41 years but don’t feel it’s time to retire financially & the way the world appears right now. I know when God wants me to move on and do something else, He will make it clear.
Thank you again for being there. It means a lot to me.

  22. Peg says

God has a God-sized dream for me: a blessing at work (or maybe a different but exciting job!) and a breakthrough for my older son.

  23. Marilyn Ojeda says

My God sized dream is to have all the books balanced and receipts mailed within two weeks. That’s a doable goal. My second goal to to complete the packet for the business license by the end of February. That is a much bigger goal which has always loomed before me like a giant.

  24. Becky Jones says

This past year I have had breast cancer but I am hoping that it is all gone and will not be back. I have served the Lord for many years. We are retired now and I am able to do a lot for Hospice which is here in our Dayton.
God was with me all threw the treatments and I am feeling so much better and am going back to Hospice soon.

  25. says

Holley–So thankful and blessed to have found your site and this post series. LOVE IT!! You prompted me to share a God sized Dream on my blog–Watch out 2013!!!

  26. Rycki says

My God sized dream is to live each day to its fullest. To not get bogged down in worldly issues but to bask in the grace and goodness of God. To relish the peace and joy that I have found as I learn to listen to God’s word and turn my worries over to him. My dream is contentment with my life and to be open yo hear his direction /plan for me and anticipate the blessings God will bestow.

  27. Jackie Ingram-Myers says

I am not really sure what my My God size dreams are at the moment. I do wish to see that my daughter grow up to be all she can be. I had her late in life I just want to see her through college and god willing even past that. I do have dreams of things just not sure where my passion is. I know its in me somewhere just not sure where. Truly God will speak to me and let me know what it truly it is.

  28. Dominique Payne says

My God-sized dream is to continue healing from the chaos my life has been, to move into an affordable home and to live within my means. This will mean finding a job, which is not easily done in the UK at the moment, especially as a fifty-year old woman. I am not sure what kind of job, but I trust that God has something for me somewhere.
It wasn’t easy to put into words for some reason… maybe the dream just appears to be “me-sized” rather than “God-sized”? I do know that He has a plan of restoration for me for this year, and that it will be akin to the Israelites rebuilding Jerusalem. There will be times of doubt and opposition, but in the end, the job will be done and will be better than what was there before. I trust God with this promise. He will restore the years the locust has eaten.

  29. Laura says

I don’t have a blog yet, But I do believe in GOD SIZE DREAMS! God has taken me on a journey that I have never thought I could do. God has given to me a design for a Bracelet. It is called the What if collection… by Lauras Leaves. I was looking for something to do, something that God could use me for, while living on a 300 acre farm, no people to talk to. So unlike me, I love people. Through much prayer, One day I was sitting and got this idea for a bracelet. So I began to make it. When finished, my husband said “Now that you can sell!” I thought What If this was Gods way of using me to spread the Good News about Him. Husband has been ill and bills piling up, What If…. This is answer to prayer. They have begun to sell. Praise Jesus! Now to market them. Do not know where to start, or how too, any suggestions? I wish there was room for the whole story here. It really is a Blessing that God uses us where ever He places us and there is always a reason. Even if we do not see or understand. The Bracelets come with a bookmark that has the story/meaning of each piece. This is what they say The What If Bracelet: This bracelet begins and ends with Love, Because; For God so Loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Jesus having died on the cross for our sins, Brought to us Hope for eternal life, Joy and Peace to our souls, and it is all through the Grace of God. Why? Because He loves us eternally with an Everlasting Love! What if you dared to believe….. God gave to me this writing after the bracelet was made and it fit each piece when it was finished. How awesome God is!! He has given a design for Necklace, Key Chain, Cross pin, and Cross necklace also. All are hand made and painted, no two are the same, each made separately, they have a purpose in this God Size Dream, I just do not know the full extent. Please pray with me for the guidance, and wisdom from God as to what He would have me do next with them. I praise God for all that He has done in my life, all that He is doing in my life, and all that He promises to continue to do in my life. All for and to the Glory of God My Lord and Savior! Laura

  30. says

I have a spinal cord injury and its been a rough year. My life is turned upside down!
Would have never got where I am without God! Some times I lose faith, but find myself running back to Him. My God sized dream may sound selfish. I ask Him to give me the grace to be able to accept my life as it is moment by moment & day by day! I thank you Holly for your uplifting thoughts & words! I look forward to them every day! Bless everyone on these sites!

My husband died almost 18 months ago-my God sized dream-at first-was to have another Godly husband.
I have had 3 sky dives since August 2012- so now my God sized dream is to have a Christian husband who sky dives so we could together share the glory of God’s skies!!

  32. LMJ says

I have many dreams, many deisres, but what I long for most is just to feel God’s presence each and every day in my life. I don’t want “my” dreams I want GOD’s dreams for my life. Nothing I have planned has ever turned out unless I lt go and let God. He has even help rearrange my mistsakes. Things in my life that “I” chose to do, yet He is there to pick-up the many peices of my broken life. I just deisre to draw close to God. Yes, I have my plans and my dreams, but I’ve never been able to figure out what His call for my life is. Maybe this is it…my life as it is is His plan, but I feel like there is so much more out there. Surely I can be used in some way. I don’t want to be front and center I just want to be a part of His plan and will for my life. I pray that this year He will reveal to me what my God Size Dream is.

  33. Helen says

To dare to write (even sing or speak?)……songs, Biblical reflections, more……?
God has long been impressing on me to communicate Biblical truth, but I am so fearful to step out? My God sized dream is to dare to approach the cliff’s edge, and trusting Him, to j-u-m-p off in faith.
