God-sized Dream = A desire in your heart for more of what God has for you.

We’re opening the door to God-sized dreams in 2013. So every week we get together to encourage each other {because don’t we all need it? yes, ma’am.}. This week Jennifer Watson is here to share about God-sized dreams with you…

We were never meant to be lone-dreamers. You need a God-sized posse, a small gang, and someone to dream crazy dreams with. We were never meant to walk this journey alone. When we lock hearts with one another and dream God-dreams we are a force to be reckoned with! — Jennifer Watson, Today’s Guest Poster
One thing that I have learned along the journey of God-sized dreams is this; we were never meant to be lone-dreamers. Alone and stranded by fear we sink when God made us to soar.
This is the Jesus that sent out His disciples in pairs, a blending of souls to accomplish amazing things. I have a God-sized dreamer friend to walk through this journey with. We are more than best friends; we are more like a small gang. Together we are stronger, better, and sometimes crazier. We are meant to be that three-cord-strand not easily broken and frayed.
Standing alone I’m frazzled and frayed coming apart seam by seam and my dream seems too big and out of reach. I’m the girl trying to lasso the moon, insignificant and silly. The enemy of our souls, the dream stealer, begs us not to dream. Standing alone and stranded, we listen to him. Yet something within us is unrelenting, ever hoping in the unseen.
Once again God whispers a dream in your ear and for a moment your eyes light up like they used to at Christmastime because you know that wrapped with a ribbon of radiance is your dream. It has your name on it. But, you have to wait to open it.
You chase the dream like you used to chase boys, but now you chase little ones and juggle life carefully while trying to hold onto the faint whisper of a dream. You long for it. Your thoughts drift off thinking about it. And often you wait a very long time for it to come to fruition. God’s clock is timeless.
So one day timidly, or perhaps overly caffeinated, you let the God-dream slip out of your mouth and into the open space to a friend and her eyes light up too. She can see your dream as real as the coffee you sip. God lets her see the dream and God lets her see you. Beautifully designed for greatness together, you chase dreams with someone who gets it.
What once was your secret, crazy dream etched on your heart by the God who formed you is now a pinkie promise with another dreamer who walks with you hand in hand and heart to heart.
We were never meant to be lone-dreamers. You need a God-sized posse, a small gang, and someone to dream crazy dreams with. We were never meant to walk this journey alone. When we lock hearts with one another and dream God-dreams we are a force to be reckoned with!
Wrapped with perfection is a dream with your name on it…perhaps it’s waiting to be unwrapped by you. Some of the biggest gifts in life take more than two hands to unwrap releasing joy in the hearts of those who refuse to dream alone.

Now it’s your turn!
Last week your “do what you can step” for your God-sized dream was to find a God-sized dreams buddy. Link-up your blog post sharing who you chose and why. So we can all find each other, please include this God-sized Dreams button in your post {you can get the code in the sidebar}. Also, love on your fellow God-sized dreamin’ sisters by leaving a comment on the post before yours.
On the God-sized dreams team, we paired up with buddies and mine are two wonderful women, Ashley and Deb.
For next week take this “do what you can” step for your God-sized dream: think back to another time when you took positive action in your life. {Unless you’re still eating baby food, crawling and wearing onesies you’ve already come a long way!} What’s one thing that helped you move forward that you could apply again now and someone else could benefit from hearing too? Write a post about your answer and link it up here next week. {If you don’t have a blog, you can share in the comments.}

I love the reminder that we are never meant to be lone-dreamers! Amen, amen!!! Thank you, as always, for the encouragement.
So thankful for the many, many people who have believed in my dreams and encouraged me to pursue them. And I’m thankful for the ways God has opened doors for me to be a part of encouraging others as they chase their God-dreams.
LOVE this: “or perhaps overly caffeinated, you let the God-dream slip out of your mouth”! Thank God for coffee . . the elixir of dreams!
Love to Dream.

Psalm 40:3
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see & fear the Lord & put their trust in him.
thanks so much for the reminder to seek out those who will encourage and speak truth in this journey!
So glad I found this blog. I can learn here, read ( and translate) here and dream
Greetings from a Dutch blogging mama.
What’s an introvert like me doing in a place like Facebook? Making friends! I wrote about my journey to Facebook and the Holy Spirit’s leading me to use Facebook as a ministry to others as well as Facebook being a ministry to me: http://onewordeachyear.blogspot.com/2013/01/whats-introvert-to-do.html
It is good to know that we have prayer partners and fellow dreamers who “get us” even when we don’t get ourselves. I love the encouragement that comes from this community.
I love how God drops in our lives the right people we need to help us move forward!
Sometimes we just know it. Can sense it. “Hey ~ this friendship is right. It’s a God-thing!”
Love that.
Even just to have one or two people who know what we’re doing and dreaming… helps us feel less alone. Or covered in prayer.
I love this little army of sister-dreamers. (Thanks Holley Gerth!)
And friends reading this comment ~ God bless you in whatever you do today!
My busyness suddenly picked up because of a new book project. But I’m thrilled to catch what I can of all this great inspiration – here and there!
Remember: “With God, all things are possible!”
Oh how I can identify with this unrelenting girl trying to lasso the moon with unseen hope.So reserved to voice my dream because when I have I’ve found myself feeling alone and inadequate.I’m still standing alone but I trust in my God that works with purpose and on purpose.Thank you for this post that so encouraged my heart this morning.
This is lovely. I am blessed that God chose my husband to be my dream buddy
Still looking and praying for the rest of the gang to come together!
Thanks for the words of wisdom here,
sherri
I shared my God-sized dream with my husband but I feel that it may turn into something even more than I shared with him – kind of scary
I am still seeking and praying about finding a friend to join me in this. I know most of my friends would encourage me, but keep me accountable? I’m just not sure, yet.
Thanks for the posts and comments that encourage all of us to just keep on keeping on and not give up!
Holley, I’m so glad you’re my buddy. But really, you are a buddy to us all. You challenge us and encourage us and believe in us. Sure do appreciate you!
Please hook me up with a buddy! I have already responded to what is my dream before…thanks…
Beth, you can find a buddy over on this post: http://holleygerth.com/whos-sharing-your-journey/#comments. And anyone else who would like one can too!
I’m encouraged and validated by Jennifer’s words. Thank you for putting that in black and white for me.
I am getting glimpses of a God-sized dream, but almost afraid to open my eyes. Can it really happen?
Holley again thank you so much for always being there…my prayer to God today….Give me the strength to empty me of myself enough to learn humility. Teach me to be slow to speak. Give me soft words when I do speak. Fill me with your grace and let it overflow in my daily walk,, Let the love of Christ within me cover a multitude of sin in others…
I once had a dream buddy and we dreamed big dreams together, jumped in the deep end, and God performed miracles for all the world to see. My dream buddy walked away and shattered all our dreams in a million pieces before he left. I was pretty sure I would never dream again. How could I risk the mess? And, besides, my dreams really weren’t that important. God carefully, patiently put the pieces of my life back together into a beautiful story of grace and mercy. Amazingly, this story introduced BFFs that also walked through fire and still smell of smoke! We are learning how to dream together and no dream is too big or too small! We seek God together, walk (or crawl) boldly into the dreams that come from His hand, and are amazed at the love He has for us!
This is a copy of my email to my three sisters, You are all welcome to share in our “Tuesday with Holley”
It’s Tuesday and time for all God-Sized Dream buddies to get together (that’s all of you and me!!).
I have a new God-Sized Dream to share with you, something I never saw coming. Paul says in Ephesians 1:11 “…for He chose us from the beginning, and all things happen just as He decided long ago.” My new dream was planned by my Lord long ago; I’ve just been awakened to it and am in the baby steps of realizing it. I have come to the realization that I can no longer be a part of the Catholic Church community. I spoke with Mom yesterday about this as she is my Church buddy. Together we will find a new Place to Worship our Lord, one with many of the traditions of the Catholic Church which both Mom and I find spiritually fulfilling. I ask for your prayers as Mom and I make this transition to a new Church Family. Day by day…
Thank you, Holley, for your words of enouragement, which, along with God my Father, have and will continue to guide me.
Wow Gail–What an awesome dream in the works! You’ve worked yourself past the fears and went for it!
You GO, girl!
This week’s task has me stumped. I don’t know who could be my dream buddy. I don’t personally know anyone who has their own God-sized dream, besides all you ladies here. I am going to need another week to work on this…
dream dream dream and dream again and again and again
Wow I love some of the quotes in this post. I may share on my blog and link back to you.
“The girl trying to lasso the moon” … Isn’t it great when we find someone we have confidence to share our crazy dreams with? And the one about the biggest gifts taking more than 2 hands to unwrap – never heard that one before; love it.
Tank you Holly, for this encouragement, just love how God’s has put us all here in this time and place and placed His wonderful Christian sister’s around us to love each other.
So grateful for all of your God-sized dreamers who are courageously reaching out to connect! You inspire me!
Hi Holley, how are you today darl? The beginning of the year has been a real challenge to me financially and even relational but God has been really good at reminding me to be truly good at the call. Prayer request from me is to pray for our facebook friend Dominic.O’Leary. Dominic is always in need of moral support from my husband Mike as Dominic has some mental illness. Dominic is a good friend of ours but he has special needs. He and Mike already had a great time together on holidays for the sake of Dominic. Mike comes home and still with Dominic with him. Our home is only suited for a husband and wife dwelling as it only has one bedroom and a comfortable living room and kitchen. Right now Dominic does not want to go home to Adelaide… so we suggested for him to pitch a tent in the garden. He is of course welcome inside the chalet for meals and other necessities. The Lord reminds me of His word in Proverbs that says we are to be show mercy and truth. I am praying for the Lord’s grace and mercy for our friend and for Mike and I to truly get along well. My dream is this respect is for me and Mike to be able to go the extra mile and be a channel of blessing always to Dominic. Please pray for us. Thank you Holley!
Trying to work on a dream(s). So easy to get distracted. Please pray I can focus and hear from our personal, all-knowing, all-loving Father in Heaven and know what to do, how to do it, and just do it for the Glory of God. Thanks. Anybody need an on-line buddy?
ThanX Jennifer.
