For over fifty years, my family has gone to the same marina in the same small town to feed the same big fish and a few of their feathered friends.
It started with my Great-Grandpa taking my mom as a little girl. And, for whatever reason, it still continues today.
My Grandma saves bread in her freezer just for this purpose. So on Labor Day we headed down to the dock and helped support the carp and geese with a free meal.
That goose is gobbling up a piece of bread it just snatched out of my hand. I like rewarding the brave geese that take the risk and swim up to me. God has been taking me through a "leap of faith" phase of my life so perhaps this is influencing my interactions with wildlife.
On that note, I’ll close with one of my favorite quotes…
I’d rather attempt to do something great and fail than attempt to do nothing and succeed.–Robert Schuller
I’d like to think that goose would agree.
