It’s funny how the biggest, bravest steps in our lives often happen quietly…
When we decide that God’s silent whisper is somehow louder than the sound of our heart about to beat out of our chest. When we longingly look back at our comfort zone and say, “I’m going to miss you.” When we cross the ocean and burn the ships and we don’t yet know what we may find.
No one throws us a parade. We don’t end up on a talk show. Our lives may not even change much at all on the outside even though on the inside everything feels different.
So I just wanted to lean in and say to your heart today if that’s you…“Well done, brave friend. It may seem small because it’s just one step. But it’s big. So big. Because the step you’ve taken is a step into God’s arms. And there’s not limit to what He can do in and through you.”
Everyone talks about when the Israelites crossed the Red Sea. But that’s not the only time God parted the waters for them. On the edge of the Promised Land, they came to the Jordan river. When the priests stepped into the water then it parted. It always takes a step of faith to get to the Promised Land. Always. And if you wait until you’re unafraid, you’ll never cross.
My friend Bonnie took a brave step this week. I’m so proud of her. And I’m at the She Speaks conference right now where many women are daring to do the same {are you at the conference too? come find me!}. Perhaps you’re in the middle of that kind of moment too, right where you are, taking your own step.
If so, we’re cheering for you. You may not be able to hear, you may not be able to see, but you are not doing this alone.
And what’s ahead of you is more than you can even imagine.
Go for your Promised Land, friend. Let nothing hold you back. Put your feet into that water and feel the dry ground of God’s goodness.
You can do this with Him–one step at a time.
“With God all things are possible.”
XO
