I wish I could knock on your door, stop by your space, tap you on the shoulder and say, “I’ve got a gift for you.” I’d hand you a package wrapped with a bow.
You’d ask, “For me?” with a smile.
I’d nod, grinning. Then you’d slip off the paper and peer inside to see one word…
Joy
———-
That’s what’s on my heart for you this morning, friend.
more JOY
A friend of mine and I prayed together last night–uncovering lies in my life, finding healing, doing some heart work that I deeply needed. Through that process I realized I’d always believed something untrue…
Joy has to be earned.
When I’m good enough, productive enough, and everyone else is okay then I can have joy.
The truth?
Joy is a gift just like grace.

You hold the box in your hands, lift the lid again, and peer inside one more time.
“Are you sure you want me to have this?” you ask.
And it seems we both hear a voice beyond words, whispering to our hearts, “Oh, yes–and there’s plenty more where it came from!”
May the God of hope fill you with all joy. Romans 15:13
