Horse Race photo by Paolo Camera The preacher says these words from the pulpit as we honor the life of my Grandpa Red

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7

Days after I come home we rent a movie about Secretariat, a race horse nicknamed “Red” too. All the way through, the theme is “run your race.” My favorite line…

This is not about going back. This is about life being ahead of you and you run at it! Because you never know how far you can go unless you run.–Penny Chenery

I think about life, how swiftly it goes by, how the only way for us is forward.

And I think about you.

What race do you have to run?

Whatever it is, take heart.

You can do all things through Christ.

You can face anything with Him.

And no matter what happens, you win.

Yes, I believe more than ever that we all win the race of life with Jesus.

Because it’s not about how or when we cross the finish line.

It’s about Who’s waiting for us on the other side.
