We’re all living through a strange season of separation. We’re physically separated by six feet and masks, emotionally separated from many of the activities we used to share together, mentally separated from any certainty about what the future holds.
Sometimes I feel great hope and sometimes it’s just hard. I imagine you feel the same.
I thought about all of this as I walked the trail around our neighborhood this morning. As I prayed, a comforting phrase came to my heart, “Nothing can separate you from My love.”
I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
I needed to remember this today, maybe you did too. I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m holding on to this truth: Nothing can socially distance you from God’s love today—or ever.
Cheering You On,
