My 37th birthday is next month {by the way, I will always be willing to share how old I am–life is a challenge, bring on the years}. As I get ready to celebrate, I’m thinking back to the word God placed on my heart as the theme for my 36th circle around the sun. Love.
I didn’t realize then how fitting that word would be in so many ways. Here are a few…
Two days after I chose that word I met Lovelle at a Saving Grace banquet and she became the answer to our many prayers for a daughter.
In the new year I faced harsher criticism than every before and had to choose my response: love.
Last summer I held my Grandpa’s hand as he slipped home to Jesus and I got to see what a legacy of love really means.
I think I’ll keep “love” as my word for next year too. It’s bigger than twelve months…it’s enough for a lifetime. Having a word to focus on acts as a guide and filter for me. It points me back to what matters and reminds me of what to pursue each day.
As we get close to the end of 2014, how have you seen you seen your word for the year be part of your life? And will you keep it for next year or choose a new one? I’d love to hear…
XOXO
