Have you ever felt invisible? I have, especially the past few months as I’ve spent more time than ever before behind closed doors. It can be easy to believe our small, hidden lives don’t matter as much as we hope.
We don’t get awards for doing the dishes, teaching our kids, or showing up for one more Zoom call. But all of these are still of great worth because they are about faithfulness.
Faithfulness means showing up, doing the little things, refusing to give up even when we’re weary. It’s my word for the year because there’s so much going on that I can’t control.
I watch the news headlines and sometimes feel despair. I don’t know how to change what’s happening out there. But I can choose what I do right here.
Here’s what I want to say to you today…
If you’re showing up the best you can, even if some days you’re a mess, you’re kicking butt.
If you’re still trying to love people, you’re braver than you know.
If you’re fighting to hold on to hope, you’re a fierce warrior.
None of us know what’s coming next. We’re all afraid sometimes or a little lonely. But we’re taking the next step, doing the next thing, choosing to keep going when it would be easier to quit. Even if what we’re doing today isn’t visible, it’s still valuable.
Cheering you on,
Holley
