We all hope to change the world in some way, but doing so can sound overwhelming and intimidating. How do you even begin? Here’s what I’ve come to believe: Being a world-changer simply means touching the heart of one person at a time through whatever gifts you’ve been given right where you are today.
That one person for you might be a friend, coworker, someone in your family, or a stranger on the street. Your gift might be words or encouragement, organizing or baking, leading or creating spreadsheets. You can be equally impactful holding a microphone or heating mac-and-cheese in the microwave for the people you love. You can make a difference from a downtown office or the driver’s seat of a minivan.
It’s easy to think only certain people are world-changers, the kind who seem to do big, extraordinary things. But God alone is big and extraordinary. He uses small, ordinary people to change the world every day because that’s the only kind there are, the only kind there will ever be. That includes you and me.
So if, like me, you’ve ever wondered if what you’re doing matters, if you’ve sometimes been unsure you’re making a difference, if you’ve been tempted to compare, then let’s pause together and realign our perspective with God’s heart.
He has placed us here for such a time as this, and He is working in and through us in ways beyond what we can see. What seems like nothing at all in this moment might just change all of eternity.
You’re making a bigger difference than you know through each small thing you do this week.
Cheering You On,
Holley
