Dropping worry…

Seattle

We cross Puget Sound again in early morning light. The water ripples and sways…reminding me of thoughts that disrupt the surface of my mind so often.

Worry.

The W takes the shape of an anchor in my mind.

It weighs me down.

And I choose then to drop it, let it disappear as surely as it would had it slipped it beneath the waves.

I cut the chain with a prayer and it is gone, covered by endless water and grace.

Then I take the replacement, the better way, the one that makes us ripple and sway with joy instead.

Hope.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19

We dock and I step lightly on new shores.
