And, girls, I know insecurity.
She’s made my knees knock, boots shake, nose run and socks sweat.
I’ve blamed her for times I’ve held back, given in, given up, or chickened out.
Do you know her too?
If you’re a woman, I imagine you do.
As I prayed about what to write next, OUT of INsecurity kept coming to my heart.
I wrestled with God over that one…
You want me to not only admit I’m insecure but explore it, share some stories I’d rather keep to myself, and ask you to heal me (us) in front of the whole world?”
The response sure sounded like a yes.
So here I am and here you are. And after all that wrestling, I’m really glad.
Because even though I don’t know all that God is going to give us in the next few days I do know this: He loves us, CRAZY loves us, and He wants us to be free.
He’s the One who made the world in seven days, parted the Red Sea, and sent His Son to save the world.
There’s nothing He can’t do. And when it comes to His girls, there’s not much He won’t do to make sure we’ve got His best.
So I’m taking a deep breath, reaching for your hand on one side and His on the other, and hollerin’ (that’s southern for yelling when you’re happy) with all my little insecure heart…
“C’mon, girls, let’s go!”
