“Sometimes I can’t stop worrying.”
“I wish fear didn’t hold me back.”
“Maybe if I just pray harder my anxiety will go away…”
Do any of these sound familiar? Imagine being able to say instead…
“I finally have control of my thoughts.”
“I feel the fear and do it anyway.”
“I have what my body, mind, heart, and soul needs to feel at my best each day.”
I’ve struggled with anxiety since I was eight years old and for a long time I thought it was just part of my life. But a few years ago I started asking, “What if I can be in control of my anxiety instead of feeling like it controls me?”
That started me on a journey of learning everything I could about anxiety. I went to a counselor, read books, had conversations with people, and dug deep into Scripture. I started applying what I learned to see what actually worked. Then I put everything that was helpful into my new book, What Your Mind Needs for Anxious Moments.
This little devo is a 60-day journey from Genesis to Revelation that looks at every time someone in the Bible felt anxious. (Spoiler alert: Some people handled anxiety really well and some handled it terribly-ha! We can learn from both.) I combined the biblical truth I discovered with brain science, practical strategies, try-it-today tips, prayers, and more.
