I stare at the list of names on my screen. I scan my daunting to-do list. I think of the many roles I want to fill well–wife, daughter, friend. I feel small. Not enough. Inadequate.
The reality is none of us are superwomen. Our ideal and our real never quite line up. Even with our best intentions, we fall short. We mess it up. We let people down. And some days we’re doing well just to get up.
But here’s what God is gently showing me. In spite of all that…
We are not inadequate.
We are in Christ.
And that changes everything. Because he can make up for what we lack. He can fill the the gaps. He can multiply our fish and loaves–whatever we have to offer. In him we are enough. And we have enough. So silence those lies within you today, sister. I will too. Let’s not let our hearts listen to what isn’t true.
You are never inadequate because you always have a beyond-all-you-can-imagine God living in you.
