Have you ever been told “you’re so quiet”? Take it as a compliment…

Have you ever heard “you’re so quiet”? Me too. We live in a time when being outspoken is often encouraged, even in the church, but it hasn’t always been that way.

As proof, I’ve rounded up a list of ancient yet still relevant truths that talk about “quiet” as something positive and powerful…

"You're so quiet" is a compliment, not a criticism.

I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. Psalm 62:1

I have calmed and quieted myself. Psalm 131:2

For everything there is a season…a time to be quiet and a time to speak. Eccl. 3:7

A quiet spirit can overcome even great mistakes. Eccl. 10:4

In quietness and confidence is your strength. Isaiah 30:15

My people will live in safety, quietly at home. Isaiah 32:18

Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” Mark 6:31

Make it your goal to live a quiet life. 1 Thess. 4:11

Next time someone says, “you’re so quiet” what if we simply say “thank you” then carry on being who God created us to be?

“You’re so quiet” isn’t a criticism; it’s a compliment.
